full time VoIP Technical Support Engineer

The MailStreet (division of Apptix) Technical Support Engineer, VoIP will be responsible for support and provisioning of all telephone service/​features.​ Related activities include working trouble tickets, performing daily checklists, general maintenance and other related projects.​


NETWORK

· Develop and understand network models and perform ‘what-if’ scenarios

· Strong knowledge of IP Concepts including VLAN's, QoS, tuning and capacity management concepts expected

· Strong Networking knowledge, including: LAN topology, IP routing, TCP/​IP, small office/​Home office networking

· Ability to troubleshoot network issues at a packet level, using common tools such as WireShark and Ethereal.​

· Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls

· Thorough experience and knowledge of network and VoIP protocols, including SIP, RTP, RTCP, DNS, & DHCP



EXPERIENCE

· Broadsoft PBX knowledge a plus

· Familiar with most home/​SOHO routers, including Linksys, D-Link, Netgear,Belkin, etc



EDUCATION

· Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.​

· 5 years technical experience preferred.​

· Experience with hosted VOIP preferred.​

· Must work well in a team environment and can multi-task effectively and efficiently.​

· Strong documentation and organizational skills are required.​
