Sr. Cognos 8 Specialist

About the Job
We are looking for Cognos Specialists with the following requirements
· 2 + years experience with Cognos 8 version reporting and modeling
· 4 + years experience with data warehousing life cycle and dimensional modeling is required
· In-depth experience with the Cognos 8 Suite: Framework Manager, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, and Query Studio
· Extensive experience with Framework Manager including DMR, setting up hierarchies and performance tuning and optimizing framework environment.
· Advanced SQL programming experience
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Multi-tasking and task prioritization is a requirement
Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, implement, and test Cognos solutions
· Consult with the Data Warehouse Analyst to prototype, test, and debug reports/cubes to meet business requirements
· Create and execute test plans/scripts to find errors and confirm reports/cubes meet specifications
· Troubleshoot Cognos issues
· Work with business units to gather information, understand business needs/objectives and recommend the appropriate reporting solution
· Provide technical leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
· Consulting experience
· Certified IBM/Cognos BI Modeler (will be given top priority)
Education:
· BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
