Description
Under supervision, develops, codes, tests, and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software. Possesses a good understanding of business applications. Works with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems, resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements. May be involved in the development of software user manuals and demonstrate software. Requires bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and two to four years of related experience.
Requirements
Required abilities include:
· Perform as a fully experienced Software Developer in providing complex enhancements to existing software in IBM WebSphere Application Server J2EE environment utilizing Servlets and STRUTS technologies, under minimal direction.
· Design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software as required using Java, HTML, JSPs, a variety of XML technologies (i.e., XML, XSL, XSLT, etc.).
· Participate as a team member in software requirement reviews, preliminary and critical designs, software development and testing.
· Create and maintain documentation for the system.
· Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) and five to seven years of related experience.
· Be able to obtain security clearance and undergo background investigation.
Recommended abilities include:
· Knowledge of IBM Rational Software Architect IDE.
· Experience in developing software targeted for UNIX environment.
· Experience using IBM Rational Suite configuration management tools.
· Knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and integration experience with enterprise business applications.
