Product Support Specialist III

Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:
Position would be to improve the quality of production support for Kaplan Higher Education. Product Specialist Level III would continually seek to become a more efficient and effective part of a team that will organize to improve process improvements, work redesign, and implement best practices. This individual is responsible for providing advanced software support for the CampusVue Product. Duties also include CampusVue application administration, maintenance, testing and mentoring Product Specialists Level II. This individual will work closely with members of the Application Support Team and Operations to ensure the system is functioning at optimal performance as needed.
Position involves having advanced ability to multitask, prioritize and work through high-pressure situations and juggle project based workload to successfully meet the needs of the user while maintaining a professional helpful attitude with all users and application support team members. This position also requires specialization in CampusVue application and the ability to troubleshoot advanced data issues and provide ongoing real time training for Product Specialist Level II.
Strong knowledge of all CampusVue modules, MS SQL Server Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, SQL Profiler, Stored Procedures, Views, SQL Jobs and Crystal Reports. Knowledge of Citrix Server Administration tools is a plus. Interface with Product Specialist Level II and vendor support staff as needed.
Advanced problem solving skills in identifying problem trends and provide information that can be used to eliminate recurring problems. Maintains a broad knowledge of technical troubleshooting tools and resources; and participates in professional development activities as appropriate. Identify and document problem resolutions and incorporate into a knowledgebase system.
Experience Required:
oAbility to complete all scripting tasks in SQL required to resolve user issues.
oA complete understanding of DML statements (i.e. Inner Join, Outer Join, Cross Joins, Self Joins, aggregate functions etc).
oAdvanced ability to troubleshoot SQL views, stored procedures and functions.
oAdvanced use of profiler to troubleshoot SQL calls from the application
oAdvanced Ability to look at data and identify recurring patterns.
oA thorough understanding of Data Structures
oStrong ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
oAbility to write user, operational and application documentation.
oAbility to plan for and coordinate the maintenance of applications.
oApplication platforms, architectures and design
oAdvanced Ability to read Crystal reports and troubleshoot the Views and Stored Procedures that are called from the report.
oAdvanced understanding of how Crystal reports are used with the CampusVue Application
