Technical Writer - Visio, Excel, Word, Communication.
Responsible for planning, organizing, writing and editing the contents of the client's Positive Train Control (PTC) Implementation, Development and Safety Plans as required by the Federal Railroad Administration. Researches technical design specifications, interface design, design diagrams or test specifications. Acquires and organizes basic source material, including applicable specifications, engineering write-ups, and drawing packages from all affected organizations within client. Develops standard templates and outlines for the documentation. Helps coordinate the layout and design of the material. Works with client personnel and the PTC System Segment Suppliers to create and edit system documentation, user manuals, training courses, and procedures. Must have expert knowledge of Excel, MS Word and Visio Drawing tool. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required. Proven ability to provide direction to all levels of management within client is desired. Previous work on United States government filings is a must. 6+ years of prior experience in this role.
