Department: Information Systems
Position Description:
- installing, testing and implementing database management systems and related products,
- ensuring databases are tuned for optimal performance,
- performing problem determination and resolution for database related problems,
- ensuring recoverability and adequate disaster recovery of databases,
- performing the physical generation and definition of databases and
- providing advice on the logical design of databases.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or an analytical discipline or equivalent experience,
- must have minimum of four years experience managing and administering DB2 z/OS or DB2 UDB for AIX databases,
- must have a thorough understanding of the z/OS platform or AIX operating
- must have excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- must have an excellent attendance and punctuality record,
- must be flexible and able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner,
- must have a high degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity,
- must demonstrate ability to work under minimal supervision,
- must have good human relation skills (the ability to work well with others and be a team member),
- must show enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work and
Required Qualifications:
- a commitment to Publix and our Mission.
- minimum of five years experience managing and administering DB2 z/OS or DB2 UDB databases,
- experience managing very large DB2 databases in a high transaction volume environment,
- experience supporting SAP R/3 and BW on DB2/AIX
- strong DB2 system and SQL performance tuning skills and
- experience using Veritas NetBackup with DB2 to

Compensation: – Pay Type: Salaried – Minimum Base Pay: $5,135.00 – Maximum Base Pay: $7,720.00 – Year End Bonus: One month’s pay (pro-rated in the first year) if associate remains employed through December 31. – Potential Annual Pay with Bonus: $66755 – 100360
