About the Job
Assignment
Network administrator with a minimum of 5 years experience. The network administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a multi-location LAN and WAN network, including Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security logging appliances. They are also responsible for maintaining day-to-day PCI compliance of the network.
Primary Responsibilities
1) Manage and administer Cisco 6500, 3700, 3500, 2900 switches and routers.
2) Assist with administration of Cisco ASA firewalls and Cisco Intrusion Detection Systems.
3) Monitor daily network operations including review of daily logging reports. Familiarity with Cisco MARS security logging appliances a plus.
4) Troubleshoot network operations problems and respond to network security events.
5) Assist in maintaining PCI compliance. Includes reviewing and maintaining network documentation and keeping abreast of changes in PCI policies and best practices.
Required General Skills
1) 5+ years experience supporting multi-location Cisco network environments.
2) Experience with PCI compliance requirements and implementation/support of PCI standards.
3) Experience using CiscoWorks and Cisco ASA firewall appliances.
4) Familiarity with network management tools, like Solar Winds Orion.
Required Technical Skills
1) Network Operations - Expert with 5 year(s) experience.
Expert-level knowledge of Cisco network environments, including Cisco security appliances.
2) Network Implementation - Intermediate with 3 year(s) experience.
Working knowledge of implementing network equipment and security policies.
3) Security Specialist - Intermediate with 2 year(s) experience.
Working knowledge of implementing and supporting network security in a multi-location environment.
Preferred Technical Skills
1) Network Designer - Intermediate with 2 year(s) experience.
Working knowledge of network design best practices - especially as they related to PCI compliance.
2) System Administration - Novice with 1 year(s) experience.
Familiarity with Windows/Unix system administration.
