The Subject Matter Specialist augments project team or directs and participates in all phases of software development by providing high-level functional ADP systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems which require extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation. Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation and presentation phases. Applies advanced business and administrative principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in Government program and administrative applications to arrive at automated solutions

New Hire and Rehire candidates for this position will be offered the LMOS benefit program. Internal candidates for this position will be able to retain their current benefit program if they are participating in the LMOS, LMES or Corporate benefit programs currently. Other internal candidates will be offered the LMOS benefit program.

Qualifications:
General – The Subject Matter Specialist should possess five (5) years within the last seven (7) calendar years of intensive and progressive experience in the individual’s field of study and specialization.

Specialized – The Subject Matter Specialist should possess two (2) years within the last four (4) calendar years of intensive and progressive experience in functional and ADP analysis/programming of subject matter closely related to the work to be automated.

Please note that General and Specialized Work Experience may be earned concurrently.

Educational Requirements – Specific functional areas requiring subject matter expertise may include: (1) Accounting, (2) Curriculum Development, (3) Education and Training, (4) Finance and Budget, (5) Inventory, (6) Logistics, and (7) Personnel Administration. The Subject Matter Specialist should possess a 4-year bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a curriculum or major field of study which either (1) provides substantial knowledge useful in managing large, complex Automated Information System (AIS) projects, (2) is closely related to the work to be automated, or (3) is in Computer Science, a physical science or a mathematics intensive discipline.
