POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in installation management of software products. Provides system administration support to the development teams and clients. Works closely with System Administration Manager and Program Managers to resolve system installation and deployment problems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides adequate support during software development, testing and implementation, and prompt support of systems released to production.
Participates in development and testing of product installation scripts.
Participates development of quality assurance processes needed to maintain high level of reliability of software deployment and support.
Keeps abreast of new technology. Develops in-depth knowledge and understanding of the operating systems and administration tools.
Complies with all approved procedures, directives and guidelines.

Education Required:
BS in Computer Science, or BS in Engineering and minimum 3 years of software development or system administration experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree.

Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years experience in software development including 1 year in system administration. Good knowledge of UNIX Shell and working knowledge of one of the following languages: C, C++ or Java.. Good understanding of distributed systems* concepts. Good knowledge of one of the modern development tools and operating systems, such as: AIX, HP-UX, Windows NT, Unix Make, MKS, and Visual C++. Good knowledge of system administration of one of the following systems: AIX, HP-UX, and Windows NT.
