Network Architect

Our client is seeking a Network Architect to join their current Network Administrator and architect and design a new network.
Responsibilities:
- Provides network and server administration
- Will be responsible for problem identification and issue resolution pertaining to LAN and wireless network.
- Manages, tunes and monitors server operation/performance.
- Manages the redundancy of data and systems.
- Perform load balancing.
- Maintains/delegates/performs data backup/retrieval procedures.
- Analyzes trends in technology industry and makes pertinent recommendations.
- Forecasts Technology related expenditures for budget.
- Develops and maintains documentation for general operations and in support of Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Installs and configures computer hardware, software, and peripheral components which may occasionally require moving or relocating computer equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- May supervise other Technology support personnel.
- Will serve as a point of escalation to technical staff.
- Identify any inefficiencies in their current network, propose a solution, and implement
- Will be responsible for Network Architecture and design.
- Assist with any office moves
- May need to travel to various locations in the country to resolve any issues and implement solutions
- Will assist in merging newly acquired companies into the existing IT infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Network Architecture experience including architecture of mid-sized data systems (200+ servers)
- 5+ years of Systems and Network Administration experience
- Knowledge of HP Pro Curve
- Familiarity with various Nortel products and systems (VoIP, Switches)
- Knowledge of MPLS
- Familiarity with VMware servers
- Must be able to travel approximately 15%
Preferred:
- Experience with acquisitions is a plus
- Telecommunications background is a plus
Certifications:
Required-
- Cisco- CCNP or Nortel- NCSE, NCDE, NCTE
Preferred-
- Cisco- CCIE or Nortel- NCA
- Nortel- PBX (Option 11 or Option 61)
