Adexis, the storage division of Cranel, Inc. is seeking a Storage Pre-Sales Engineer based in the Florida or Texas area to cover the territory of Orlando, Dallas / Fort Worth and surrounding areas. This position will provide technical assessment, design and solution selling services for customers in a highly complex data storage and protection industry. Adexis SE’s work closely with the direct sales team to win customers.
As a key member of the consulting and sales teams, the qualified candidate, the SE must understand each customer’s business and be able to define business and technical issues, map the technical requirements to architect appropriate technical, and perform the technical “sell” of the solution. The SE is an expert in data storage, availability, protection and management technologies, and can recognize opportunities for solutions in customer accounts, perform technical presentations technology and solutions, and map these back to the benefits. The SE will perform and support tasks such as technical sales calls, presentations, solution configurations, will work with the professional services team to define implementation scope and approach, and will drive the statement of work creation process for services engagements.
Using the Adexis Solutions Assurance Methodology, they will gather requirements via client-facing meetings; work with the Adexis and vendor teams to define solutions that include initial designs, customization, and integration services, which will be delivered by the Adexis services team to optimize the customer’s investment and to maximize operational benefits.
This position works closely with local Adexis sales team, technical services and support group, external vendor partners, and the customer to ensure a smooth implementation and transition.
The employee will work out of their home office and travel within their assigned territory to client sites, vendor and networking meetings, and occasionally to Corporate Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Experience with the following are required:
2 – 5 years total hands-on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Backup and recovery software (e.g., Symantec/Veritas NetBackup) Tape Technology – LTO, DLT, 9940 etc. RAID storage products – EMC, NetApp, HDS SAN fibre architecture Data archival solutions (Symantec/KVS Enterprise Vault) Must have minimum knowledge/skills in one or more of the following areas: UNIX/Solaris HP-UX AIX Windows NT and/or Novell Familiarity with networking technologies Experience working with products on a variety of Open Systems Excellent analytical abilities, resulting in problem resolution Excellent organizational skills and results orientation BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience/training towards technical certificationsExperience with the following are a plus:
High performance storage systems and SAN technologies; IP SAN; iSCSI Database backup and restore, such as Oracle, SQL, Exchange etc. Network Attached Storage (NAS) Fibre channel fabric, such as Brocade and McDATA switches Clustered systems Certifications in technical software applicationsEmployment Package Includes:
